How can I exempt a tax on the company level?

To set up a company-wide exemption, submit a case in the Help Community with the subject Company Tax Exemption Request.

• Product Name: Payroll

• Product Feature: Company Setup

• Function: Tax Setup

In the case description, include the tax name and reason for exemption. Include attachments of the backup documentation from the tax agency supporting the exemption request. 

Note: The tax will remain exempt in Namely Payroll until you request to stop the exemption. Once you become liable for the tax, submit a new case to start withholding the tax going forward. You will need to enter a tax ID and rate once the requirements are met so that this can be handled by Namely.

If you have a tax exemption for specific employees, update their employee profiles in Namely Payroll under the Tax tab.
